A great city to walk. The parks are fantastic, and whilst we didn't visit the museums and galleries this trip, they are well worth a visit. Also visited the Saturday morning market - lots of lovely food options and produce such as locally grown hazelnuts.

Launceston is an old town. There are some amazing historic buildings to see and the City Gardens are beautiful. They still have the monkey enclosure at the main entrance. I remember this being there when I visited as a child almost 50 years ago. The 1 draw back if I could find one is the fact that after 8 30pm on a weekend it was next to impossible to find some where to eat unless you wanted to go to a less than inviting hole in the wall bar in a back alley or the usual rubber food served by the golden arches.

There are a few great restaurants but they close early. Launceston is a gem holiday destination if you enjoy great food and long leisurely walks. Eat your way around town and then explore the wonderful sights, then wake the next day and repeat!

The history is visible in the varied architecture. Launceston is fun to visit. Enjoyed seeing the architecture of the buildings which were Georgian and Art Deco.

The C. D has quaint shops and interesting places to eat that are diverse in cuisine. Love the waterfront easy to locate things of interest. My husband was in hospital which was only 3 blocks away. It was very comforting to be able to return to such a lovely homely unit after being at the hospital each day. The unit we stayed in was 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. Perfect for 2 couples for a getaway.

I was there with my sister and will take my husband back there one day. Some lovely restaurants very nearby. The restaurant was not opened. The bar for happy hour only had cheap wines. Where as the Grand Chancellor had a much better happy hour and the restaurant was opened.

Pillows could have been better and more of them we only had 1 per person. Love the size of property and the wallabies roaming outside your windows! We used the pillow concierge service to get two latex pillows delivered! Amazing scenes. Hot tub was nice and the bed was massive!

A short drive into launceston for dinner and the brekkie at the hotel was amazing the next morning! Absolutely loved our stay! Gorgeous building, super comfortable and cosy room with lovely outlook and decor.

Loved the old world charm of this heritage listed hotel. Staff were friendly and considerate - turning on our heater before arrival on a very chilly evening! We only stayed a night but wished we could stay longer.

Would definitely stay again when returning to Launceston. Great location in the centre of Launceston. Washing powder in the laundry was a bonus. Daily servicing if required, fresh bottled water, tea, coffee and mentos provided.

Townhouse was relatively clean and comfortable. Lovely continental breakfast provided. The location is excellent. We got a family room and it was pretty quiet so we enjoyed a very good sleep.

I would classify the accommodation as budget, but still good value for what you get. I would definitely stay again. We arrived late in Launceston for a flight the next morning. Reception was attended when we arrived. The receptionists were very helpful with suggesting a late meal for us, and calling a cab for us in the morning. Bed was really comfy. It was very quiet in the room even though the hotel was busy. Rooms are contemporary with warm, vibrant colours throughout, along with sleek surfaces and a range of room types.
